We are seeking a talented and energetic Hair Braider to join our vibrant salon team! Duties
- Create a variety of braiding styles, including traditional, box braids, cornrows, twists, and more, tailored to each client’s preferences.
- Incorporate hair extensions seamlessly into styles for added length and volume.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene by properly cleaning tools and workstations after each client.
- Use salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently.
- Provide expert advice on hair care routines, color theory applications, and product recommendations to enhance client satisfaction.
- Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, answering questions, and managing appointment bookings.
- Upsell retail products like hair care items, styling tools, and accessories to support clients’ ongoing beauty routines.
- Stay current on the latest hair styling trends, techniques like the straight razor haircutting method, and industry best practices.
- Mentor new team members by sharing techniques in hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, nail care, and other salon services.
- Promote a welcoming atmosphere by delivering exceptional customer service and fostering positive communication with clients.
Experience
- Proven experience in professional hair braiding with a strong portfolio of diverse styles.
- Knowledge of salon software systems such as MINDBODY or similar platforms for scheduling and sales management.
- Familiarity with hair extensions application techniques and color theory principles.
- Skills in sanitation practices aligned with industry standards for safety and cleanliness.
- Experience in cosmetology or barbering licenses preferred; certification in hair threading or eyelash extensions is a plus.
- Ability to perform additional beauty services including makeup application and nail care to diversify service offerings.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with clients effectively while providing personalized recommendations.
