Salary Range: $10,000 - $11,500

Job Summary

The Cabin Division Leader is a supervisory leadership role responsible for overseeing a cluster of camper cabins and supporting Cabin Counselors in providing safe, consistent, and engaging daily care for campers. This role focuses on staff supervision, camper behavior guidance, and maintaining a positive, structured cabin culture through coaching, accountability, and clear expectations.

This position reports to the Camp Program Director and works closely with camp leadership.

Division Leaders work as part of a collaborative leadership team and are expected to partner closely with fellow Division Leaders across cabins, activities, and the Counselor-in-Training program. This role requires consistent communication, shared problem-solving, mutual support, and collective responsibility for camper safety, staff development, and overall camp operations.

Mandatory attendance at Admin Staff Training (June 8–18, 2026) and General Staff Training (June 22–July 3, 2026) is required.

Responsibilities

Supervision, Leadership, and Development

  • Directly supervise Cabin Counselors across assigned cabin clusters, ensuring consistent camper supervision, structured routines, and developmentally appropriate expectations.

  • Model calm, consistent, and effective behavior management practices for staff by demonstrating best practices in addressing camper behavior.

  • Support Cabin Counselors in managing camper behavior through coaching, real-time guidance, and reinforcement of camp protocols.

  • Identify behavioral patterns, supervision gaps, or staff support needs and escalate higher-level or safety-related concerns through the Camp Program Director and Associate Camp Director as appropriate.

Programming Integration and Operational Coordination

  • Support the smooth execution of daily schedules by collaborating with Activity Counselor Division Leaders and leadership during transitions, meals, and program shifts.

  • Ensure Cabin Counselors are prepared to support campers during activity rotations, off-site trips, evening programs (EPs), and special events.

  • Serve as a visible leadership presence during camp-wide moments including meals, community cyphers, reflections, and evening programming.

Documentation, Evaluation, Escalation, and Training Collaboration

  • Observe Cabin Counselor performance and document coaching conversations, concerns, and progress in accordance with camp protocols.

  • Address minor staff concerns through direct coaching and documentation, escalating patterned, performance-related, or safety-related concerns through appropriate leadership channels.

  • Support Counselor-in-Training (CIT) development indirectly through guidance and coaching provided to Activity Counselors supervising CITs within activity areas.

Division Leader Team — Shared Responsibilities

  • Serve as a visible leadership presence across camp, working collaboratively with fellow Division Leaders to support the Camp Program Director and ensure smooth daily camp operations and program flow.

  • Monitor assigned areas for safety, supervision quality, staff performance, and camper engagement, providing real-time coaching and guidance as needed.

  • Support camp-wide needs during transitions, meals, evening programs, special events, and leadership-directed coverage, while maintaining the role as a non-default coverage position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience in youth development, education, residential programs, or leadership roles.

  • At least two (2) years of experience working with youth in group or residential settings, with the ability to support safe, structured, and engaging environments.

  • Demonstrated leadership or managerial experience, including coaching, mentoring, or directing staff performance.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide consistent structure, clear expectations, and constructive feedback.

  • Ability to model professionalism, sound judgment, and effective behavior guidance for both campers and staff.

  • CPR and AED certification preferred; training will be provided if needed

Requirements

  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work a demanding schedule.

  • Meet all required immunizations (MMR and Poly required).

  • You must be able to work in an outside environment, where you have the ability to walk/hike daily, at various grades, elevations, and on uneven terrain regardless of weather conditions.

  • Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds, and carry and load luggage, tables, chairs, and other program equipment

  • Other duties as assigned
