The Bowery Mission is a Christian, faith-based organization committed since the 1870s to serving people experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty. As a key member of the Choose Help team, the Clinical Supervisor directly supervises the site’s Social Workers. Ensures Social Workers are well-trained and equipped to perform and coordinate all services including clinical evaluations, assessments, and internal/external referrals. Ensures clinical practices meet excellence in standards of care, census and outcome goals, hospitality, physical safety, and crisis intervention. Fosters effective collaboration across departments and campuses, including Community Life, Make Progress Clinical Services, Spiritual Formation, Operations, and Volunteer Services. In collaboration with the Program Director, fosters and develops external partnerships to expand Choose Help programming. Provides support to Campus Leader as needed.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist Program Director in service delivery to support guests service goals and oversee individual guest progress. Ensure best practices to maintain and increase guests program referral rates.
- Ensure integrated clinical services that are faith-based, empowering, trauma-informed, and foster a safe, welcoming, healthy, and caring environment for guests.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to create and improve standards of excellence in compassionate care. Support Campus Leader as needed and serve as point of contact for cross-department collaboration.
- Use knowledge of clinical profession to foster an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to treatment. Provide clinical expertise to resolve complex challenges in guest service provision. Carry a small caseload of guests presenting with more complex barriers to progress.
- Provide leadership and supervision to Social Workers to support excellence in guest care, clinical practice, and daily program operations. Foster a cohesive team environment.
- Facilitate regular individual/department meetings, and case-conferences. Demonstrate and coach Social Workers in best practices of guest engagement, including risk assessment, crisis management, and incident reporting. Ensure direct reports receive all required organizational trainings.
- Support CH team to welcome and orient new guests to shelter and review Community Life Guidelines.
- Ensure census and guest data is accurately recorded after every shift and in compliance with verbal and written reporting protocols. Conduct quality assurance review of clinical interventions, services, and procedures.
Schedule: Monday-Friday: 9:00am-5:30pm
Requirements:
- Embrace's the organization’s Statement of Faith.
- Master of Social Work or Mental Health Counseling, or a combination of education and additional work experience.
- 3 years in ministry, non-profit, or human services with supervisory and strong customer service duties. 3 years’ clinical services with supervisory responsibilities.
- LMHC, LMSW or LCSW required.
Preferred:
- Mental Health First Aid.
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention.
- Motivational Interviewing.
- Trauma-informed Care.
- First Aid/CPR.
Salary commensurate with relevant education & experience: $75,000 - $80,000 annually.
