Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and medical history documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Prepare examination rooms and assist during procedures such as X-ray, phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS).
- Manage medical records, ensure accurate ICD coding, and maintain comprehensive medical documentation in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling administrative tasks related to patient care.
- Conduct patient education on medications, treatment plans, and health maintenance strategies while demonstrating excellent patient service skills.
- Facilitate communication between patients and providers by managing EMR/EHR systems efficiently and accurately documenting all interactions.
- Assist in inpatient settings or emergency medicine scenarios within Level I or Level II trauma centers, including PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or Geriatrics care as needed.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, hospital medicine, outpatient care, and emergency medicine procedures.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR management systems and electronic health records documentation.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical records management.
- Experience with phlebotomy, X-ray procedures, medication administration, vital signs collection, and patient intake processes.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as Level I trauma centers or hospital settings with inpatient experience.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate care and effective communication.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical practices and clinic operations across various specialties including geriatrics and internal medicine.
