Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling, credit card transactions, and receipts
- Assist customers with product selection, including offering suggestions and conducting product demos when appropriate
- Maintain a clean, organized store environment by merchandising shelves, stocking new inventory, and managing product displays
- Upsell featured products and promotions to maximize sales opportunities
- Ensure all products are properly labeled and priced according to store standards
- Manage stock levels by receiving deliveries, verifying shipments, and organizing stockroom areas
- Follow phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Conduct basic retail math to handle cash transactions accurately and reconcile daily sales reports
- Adhere to all safety procedures and store policies, including responsible alcohol sales regulations
- Support supervising staff during busy periods by overseeing daily operations and ensuring excellent service standards
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, ideally in grocery stores or specialty beverage outlets
- Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Supervising experience is a plus, especially in fast-paced retail environments
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Strong communication skills to engage customers confidently and clearly explain products or promotions
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demos enhances your ability to succeed in this role
- Knowledge of alcohol regulations and responsible sales practices is advantageous but not mandatory
- Basic math skills for retail transactions and inventory management are essential
