Responsibilities
- Maintain a general ledger, perform period-end closing activities, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.
- Manage tax preparation and filings (potentially with the help of outside tax advisors).
- Manage employee reimbursements, managing syncs, payments, and reconciliations
- Design processes or systems to maintain bulletproof financial records.
- Work with the Accounts Payable team and all related activities such as receiving, downloading, and organizing all company invoices into a shared database.
- Coordinate with the Procurement Department and end-users to confirm approvals and three-way match.
- Perform monthly accruals and adjustments.
- Maintain constant communication with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments, or adjustments.
- Support business processes development and documentation, and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel
- 5 years of experience in a professional accounting position.
- CPA
- Experience with a variety of revenue types and revenue recognition processes.
- Experience in a (non-software) business, e.g., manufacturing, construction, transportation, etc.
- Strong organization skills.
- Ability to efficiently multitask and work within challenging deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, with little to no oversight, and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages (NetSuite, SAP, AX Dynamics, Oracle, or similar ERP is a strong plus).
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable and purchasing packages (Tipalti Pay, Tipalti Approve, and Odoo is a strong plus).
- Strong analytical skills doubled with the ability to problem-solve accounting matters.
