The Border in Argos, Indiana is hiring a full-time, hands-on Restaurant Manager. We are interviewing immediately and want the right person to start as soon as possible.
We’re a small, locally owned restaurant looking for someone who can take ownership of daily operations, lead our team, and help grow the business. You’ll work directly with the owner and actively work shifts—serving customers, supporting the kitchen, and stepping in wherever needed.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily restaurant operations and work alongside staff.
- Deliver friendly, attentive service and handle customer concerns.
- Help hire and train a new server as an early priority.
- Schedule employees and keep shifts organized.
- Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and consistent food quality.
- Monitor inventory, coordinate ordering, and reduce waste.
- Help manage labor and food costs.
- Coach staff on appropriate upselling and creating an experience that brings customers back.
- Keep the owner informed about staffing, sales, and operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Previous restaurant management or shift leadership experience preferred.
- Experienced restaurant employees ready to step into management are encouraged to apply.
- Dependable, organized, and comfortable taking initiative.
- Able to lead a team while actively helping with service.
- Available to work evenings and weekends.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
