Duties
- Support the daily care and supervision of infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development based on childhood development principles
- Assist with classroom management by organizing materials, maintaining cleanliness, and creating an inviting learning environment
- Engage children through play, storytelling, arts and crafts, and educational exercises that stimulate curiosity and learning
- Collaborate with lead teachers and caregivers to develop individualized care plans for children with special needs or disabilities
- Monitor children’s behavior and provide positive behavior management strategies to foster respectful interactions
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child’s progress, milestones, and any concerns
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development stages and age-specific needs for infants through preschoolers
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool settings, nannying, babysitting or similar caregiving roles
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques to maintain a safe and organized environment
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and adaptability when caring for young children in dynamic settings
