Technical Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to join a global manufacturing leader headquartered in the Western Suburbs. The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting technical accounting matters, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of accounting processes and systems. This position offers exposure to leadership, a flexible hybrid schedule, and meaningful project work beyond day-to-day accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Provide technical accounting guidance in accordance with US GAAP
• Assist in the preparation and review of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, etc.), as applicable
• Support internal controls and compliance activities, including SOX requirements
• Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits
• Participate in system upgrades and process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
• 5 years of progressive experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or similar)
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts
• Experience with SEC reporting and SOX compliance a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment (2–3 days onsite)
