Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Government Affairs Specialist, located in Richmond, VA, with the option for some work-from-home flexibility. The Government Affairs Specialist will monitor legislative developments, engage with government officials, analyze the potential impacts of public policies, and develop strategic initiatives to advance organizational objectives. The role involves drafting reports, preparing presentations, and fostering relationships within the government and policy landscape to achieve impactful outcomes.


Qualifications

  • Expertise in Governmental Affairs and Government Relations
  • Strong understanding of government-related policies, processes, and frameworks
  • Proficiency in Analytical Skills to assess policies and their implications
  • Must be adept at business development. Ideal candidate posseses a portable book of business
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, for stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with governmental structures and experience in navigating them effectively
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public administration, or a related field
  • Demonstrated organizational and collaboration abilities
  • 5-7 years experience in public policy or lobbying required
  • Must be located in Greater Richmond (VA) area
