Duties
- Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and medical massage tailored to individual client needs
- Conduct thorough client assessments to understand their health concerns and develop customized treatment plans
- Educate clients on self-care practices and recommend appropriate therapies for ongoing wellness
- Maintain detailed records of treatments, client progress, and treatment outcomes in compliance with privacy standards
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by adhering to sanitation protocols and occupational health guidelines
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their preferences and address any discomfort or concerns during sessions
- Stay current with industry best practices, new techniques, and relevant medical terminology to enhance service quality
Requirements
- Proven experience in massage therapy with proficiency in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and medical massage techniques
- Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy to accurately assess client needs and tailor treatments accordingly
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse clients
- Certification in massage therapy from an accredited program; valid license or registration as required by local regulations
- CPR certification is required to ensure safety during all sessions
- Familiarity with pain management strategies and occupational health considerations is highly desirable
- Prior experience working in med spas or wellness centers is a plus
