Job Overview
The BLVD! West Sacramento is a full-service restaurant and bar with a spacious patio and 20 state-of-the-art bowling lanes equipped with SPARK technology, which projects interactive images onto the lanes. We offer a private VIP bowling lounge, over sixty interactive arcade and virtual reality games, a themed laser tag arena, billiard tables, and ample private party areas and meeting rooms for corporate events. The BLVD! aims to create a high-design environment for all patrons, offering massive screens for sports fans, including large 15-foot screens above the bowling lanes, a 16-foot LED screen in the restaurant, and more than 30 HDTVs throughout the venue.
We are looking for an Assistant Kitchen Manager to help our Kitchen Manager in leading our team in delivering exceptional customer service by maintaining high food quality standards. In this role, you will be responsible for all kitchen operations, including staff management, inventory control, adherence to food safety regulations, and menu planning.
Job Description:
- Overseeing all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation.
- Ensuring food quality and consistency while adhering to proper food handling and storage procedures that comply with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
- Verifying that all ingredients are fresh and of high quality, and that dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
- Coordinating with vendors for the ordering and receiving of all products.
- Managing food costs, controlling portion sizes, and minimizing waste.
- Planning and developing the menu.
- Ensuring that kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
- Managing, training, and developing kitchen staff to ensure they understand food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and sanitation practices.
- Adhere to California labor laws and The BLVD’s policy handbook.
Experience:
- Over 7 years of experience in kitchen operations.
- More than 5 years of management experience.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, along with proper food preparation and handling practices.
- Proven experience in creating and managing menus.
- Experience with managing food costs, labor costs, and budgeting.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Flexible availability to accommodate varying schedules based on business needs.
- Committed to continuously finding better ways for The Blvd to serve our community and customers.
