What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Coordinator position at The BLVD Church?
Position Objective: To communicate the mission and vision of The BLVD Church through all digital platforms.
Position Description: The communications coordinator will lead and manage our communications team (volunteers and interns) and all storage of assets to maintain The BLVD’s presence on all social media platforms. All of these tasks are for the objective of helping more people discover God’s love.
Qualifications:
1. A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with him
2. A commitment to the mission, vision, and worship philosophy of The BLVD Church. 3. Demonstrated excellence in organization and follow-through
4. Understanding of basic online and database software
5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
6. Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented
7. Must have flexible hours with the ability to work remotely (subject to change)
Communications
1. Recruit, coordinate, and empower The BLVD’s volunteer communications team by equipping and empowering them to communicate the church’s vision and mission when you are not able to be present to capture and post content.
2. Develop a communications strategy for initiatives, gatherings, and events so that everyone engages in the mission of The BLVD.
3. Oversee and implement the following communication functions:
a. Social Media
i. Work with ministry leaders to post updates, news, and announcements using appropriate content to increase awareness of events.
ii. Update social media accounts with current and relevant content, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
b. Digital
i. Capture and gather pictures and videos of events to be developed into content for the church’s website and social media accounts
ii. Maintain all media and data that are relevant to our faith community and the public by uploading, organizing, and archiving photos and videos to
the appropriate servers
c. Graphics Design
i. Create graphic content that supports The BLVD’s priorities
ii. Develop graphics for sermon series and other promotional materials d. Print
i. Create printed material when necessary for promotion
e. Merch
Other responsibilities
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with the lead pastor
- Attend other meetings as necessary
- Assist with other duties and responsibilities as needed/assigned
- Be present at services and events to capture and communicate the life of the church
