The Blue Lion Pub is looking for skilled, reliable Cooks to join our kitchen team for both morning (AM) and evening (PM) shifts. This role is for cooks who take pride in consistency, care about food quality, and understand the rhythm of a busy, professional kitchen. You'll work alongside a dedicated team focused on delivering well-executed pub classics, elevated comfort food, and catering dishes that reflect the standards and identity of the Blue Lion.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menu items according to Blue Lion recipes, specs, and plating standards.
- Assist with daily prep, station setup, service execution, and breakdown.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout service.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code standards at all times.
- Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining consistency and quality.
- Communicate clearly with chefs, expo, and FOH to ensure smooth service flow.
- Support private events, banquets, and off-site catering when scheduled.
- Handle food storage, labeling, rotation, and waste control properly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook or prep cook in a professional kitchen preferred.
- Experience with pub food, scratch cooking, or high-volume kitchens is a plus.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and knife skills.
- Ability to stay organized, focused, and calm under pressure.
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented mindset.
- Catering, banquet, or event kitchen experience is beneficial.
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within the Blue Lion kitchen.
