Join our team as a Dog Bather, where your passion for dogs and commitment to their well-being will truly matter. In this hands-on role, you will provide thorough, gentle bathing services to dogs in a low-stress, home salon environment. Your ability to stay calm, attentive, and detail-oriented will help ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
This is a very part-time position with flexible scheduling that directly follows the grooming schedule.
Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively bathe dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments
- Gently and securely handle and restrain dogs during bathing and drying
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming areas, tools, equipment, and grooming cages
- Perform general cleaning duties, including floors, workspaces, and pet-related messes
- Assist with outdoor property upkeep, including picking up dog waste
- Monitor dogs for signs of stress, discomfort, or potential health concerns
- May assist with handing off dogs to clients at pick-up
- Follow all handling, safety, and workflow instructions closely
Qualifications
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening test
- Confidence handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments is required.
- Prior experience in animal handling, bathing, grooming, kennel work, or pet care is preferred but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, lifting, and physical tasks
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, loud, hands-on environment
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow directions closely
- Must have dependable transportation (location is not accessible by public transit)
Schedule
- Grooming Salon is open Wednesday through Saturday
- Start around 9:00 AM
- Typically finished around 2:00 PM or earlier depending on the schedule
- Weekly hours may range between 5-20 hours per week and are based on scheduled grooming appointments.
Additional Information
- Training will be provided. This role includes both animal care and cleaning responsibilities and requires someone who is comfortable with physical work and working both indoors and outdoors.
