Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in commercial HVAC. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience as a Commercial HVAC Technician before transitioning into estimating. This role is primarily office-based but will require occasional site visits to evaluate project conditions, estimate repair or installation costs, and determine material needs. Responsibilities include preparing detailed bids, analyzing labor and material costs, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring our company delivers competitive and accurate proposals. The Estimator will also be responsible for sourcing parts and equipment from multiple suppliers to secure the best pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
Develop comprehensive bid proposals and project timelines for clients.
Generate reports, invoices, and cost breakdowns for customer presentations.
Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine HVAC requirements.
Ensure designs meet performance, capacity, and integration standards.
Conduct on-site evaluations to gather measurements and assess project feasibility.
Identify potential challenges and recommend cost-effective solutions.
Source and procure equipment and materials from suppliers to maximize cost-effectiveness.
Research alternatives to improve project timelines and budgets.
Recommend alternative materials, designs, or processes to reduce costs while maintaining quality.
Work closely with the VP of Operations, CEO, and field technicians to ensure successful project delivery.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of commercial HVAC experience.
Proficiency in HVAC installation, diagnostics, service, and equipment.
Strong knowledge of related electrical and plumbing systems.
Ability to read and analyze blueprints effectively.
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-demand environments.
Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
Certifications & Licenses:
EPA Certification (required)
Valid Driver’s License (required)
