What are the responsibilities and job description for the FTL Logistics Coordinator position at The Block Logistics?
About Us
At The Block Logistics, we do things differently — because logistics isn't one-size-fits-all. Our Logistics Unusual℠ approach means we go beyond cookie-cutter solutions to deliver customized, data-driven strategies that create real value for our clients.
We're a third-generation, full-service logistics provider built on deep industry relationships, operational experience, and a genuine commitment to our people and partners. Our team works in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where problem-solving and accountability matter every day — and where the right person will always find room to make their mark.
The Role
We're looking for an FTL Logistics Coordinator to join our full truckload team. This is a role for someone who takes ownership — someone who stays ahead of shipments, communicates proactively, and takes pride in keeping freight moving and customers informed.
Whether you're early in your logistics career or bring a few years of freight experience, we'd like to hear from you. The day-to-day looks the same either way; what changes is the depth of conversation we'll have about your path forward.
Starting salary range: $40,000–$45,000. Candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply — compensation for experienced hires is open to discussion based on background.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate, book, track, and manage domestic FTL shipments from start to finish
- Communicate directly with carriers, drivers, and internal teams to keep freight on schedule
- Monitor active shipments and stay ahead of delays, service exceptions, or carrier issues
- Keep customers informed with timely, accurate status updates — no surprises
- Review shipment documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with carrier partners
- Spot opportunities to improve efficiency or reduce freight costs and raise them with the team
What We're Looking For
- 1–2 years of logistics or transportation experience preferred — but not required for the right candidate
- Clear, professional communicator — written, verbal, and interpersonal
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball
- Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where things change quickly
- Detail-oriented — accuracy matters in this work
- Proficient in email and Microsoft Office basics; TMS experience is a genuine plus
- Self-directed — able to work independently while staying in sync with the team
What Success Looks Like
- Customers receive timely, accurate communication
- Shipments are proactively managed from pickup through delivery
- Potential service issues are identified and addressed before they become problems
- Carrier and customer relationships continue to strengthen over time
- Team members contribute ideas that improve processes and service levels
Compensation & Benefits
- This is an in-office role based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Remote applications will not be considered
- Full-time, in-office position with WFH options per week after your training period
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off
- 401k
- A collaborative team environment
Salary : $40,000 - $45,000
