What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upper School Low Strings Sectional Coach position at THE BLAKE SCHOOL?
The Blake School seeks a skilled and passionate part-time low strings sectional coach to support the Upper School orchestra program from September 2026-May 2027.
This position leads twice-monthly sectional/masterclasses for cello and/or double bass students on Blake’s Upper School campus in Minneapolis. Required Qualifications
- Experience teaching low strings to high school students (grades 9-12)
- Expertise in strings pedagogy, rehearsal planning and implementation
- Experience teaching both small groups and one-on-one instruction
- BA/BM required; MM preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty and administrators
- Excellent communication skills

Rate of Pay: $55 per hour
This rate of pay includes the expected rate for this position. In making a rate of pay determination, we consider professional experience, applicable qualifications and other job-related factors. Based on these factors, a candidate's rate of pay offer could exceed this range.
