Compensation Range: $85K- $100K (negotiable depending on experience)
At The Blackhawk Group, we’re redefining performance in aviation — and we know that operational excellence begins with uncompromising quality. We’re seeking a Chief Inspector, based in Waco, Texas, to support our Product team and collaborate with our Engineering team.
What You’ll Do
- Apply and/or establish a formalized quality control inspection program for all owned aircraft as well as R&D aircraft. Can be 2 or 3 aircraft at any one time manufactured by Textron (Beech/Cessna), Piper, Daher, Pilatus, etc.
- Research all logs to create a status board for each aircraft as to inspection, overhaul, and maintenance status.
- Maintain all aircraft, engine, and propeller logs in an organized and concise manner.
- Create a maintenance status sheet for each aircraft.
- Put all aircraft sales aircraft on the CAMP maintenance after engine installation.
- Inspect all work being done on the floor on any aircraft.
- Occasionally using your IA credentials to license experimental aircraft and sign-off work performed at Blackhawk.
- Implement the Company PMA and R&D Aircraft Quality Systems.
- Inspect all kits being shipped out to verify the proper parts are being shipped for the respective STC
- Assist on the shop floor as needed.
- Any work done by the Chief Inspector will be inspected by another technician as a good quality control measure.
- Be proficient, knowledgeable, and capable of independently performing Blackhawk new-engine upgrades on a variety of single and twin engine turboprop aircraft.
- Travel domestically and internationally to provide professional, on-site engine installation support and training at customer and installation center locations worldwide.
- Project positive attitudes and behavior while traveling as a Blackhawk ambassador and installation expert during these onsite training and installation activities.
- Assist in various maintenance and airframe/engine related mechanical work on aircraft at Blackhawk's Waco service/engineering facility.
- This work will be on both normal and experimentally licensed aircraft in pursuit of new engine STCs or while upgrading customer-owned aircraft.
- Assist in expanding and managing Blackhawk's PMA parts capability and capability.
- This could include the actual construction of selected parts or management of outside vendor activities.
