The Black Whale is the premier high-volume, waterfront restaurant on the South Coast of MA. We are relentlessly committed to over-the-top hospitality while serving Innovative Coastal Cuisine. We are part of Servedwell Hospitality, operators of Cisco New Bedford, The Sail Loft, The Brotherhood of Thieves and more. The company started thirty years ago with the founding of Not Your Average Joes.
We are seeking experienced line cooks with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our highly successful and growing restaurant company!
Applicants must possess a genuine passion for food, essential culinary skills, ability to work on a large team and a desire for continuous improvement. This job is not without its challenges, one must be levelheaded in the face of adversity and volume. Our company's mission is to grow all cooks into future chefs and leaders of the industry.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to understand and follow direction from superiors.
- Ability to read recipes, memorize and replicate food production procedures.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
- Proficiency in grilling techniques.
- Proficiency in preparing a variety of meats and seafood on a grill to desired level of doneness.
