Restaurant Host/Hostess

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Restaurant Host/Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest relations, have excellent communication skills, and possess a strong background in hospitality and food service. This role involves managing reservations, greeting guests, and ensuring a seamless dining experience from arrival to departure. Prior experience in restaurant hosting or guest services is preferred, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS. A positive attitude, exceptional phone etiquette, and the ability to handle guest inquiries with professionalism are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage seating arrangements efficiently
• Provide menus, answer questions about the restaurant’s offerings, and assist guests with special requests
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations
• Handle guest inquiries over the phone with professionalism and courtesy
• Assist in managing guest flow during busy times to minimize wait times
• Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously
• Uphold high standards of hospitality and ensure an exceptional guest experience at all times

Experience

• Prior host/host experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred
• Strong background in food service and customer service roles
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems
• Experience in guest services can be a plus
• Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and guest relations expertise
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated hospitality skills with a focus on guest satisfaction

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.70 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 14 per week
