The Bird and Exotic Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, organized, and enthusiastic Client Service Representative to join our fast-paced, exotic-only veterinary practice. Our CSRs play an essential role in creating a welcoming client experience and supporting clear communication between pet owners and the medical team.
This is a full-time position offering competitive pay, benefits, and training in our exotic-animal procedures and workflows. Prior veterinary reception experience is required; exotic-animal experience is welcome but not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly and manage patient check-ins and check-outs with professionalism and empathy
- Answer a high volume of phone calls, schedule appointments appropriately, and relay accurate messages to the medical team
- Enter and maintain accurate client and patient information in the medical record
- Process invoices and payments accurately and communicate professionally about estimates, deposits, and outstanding balances
- Coordinate with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to support efficient communication and a smooth client experience
- Assist clients compassionately during urgent, stressful, or emotionally difficult situations
- Follow established hospital biosecurity, sanitation, and patient-safety protocols
- Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming reception area
Requirements
- At least one year of veterinary reception or veterinary client-service experience
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and common veterinary hospital workflows
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Comfort working around birds, reptiles, and small mammals
- Ability to handle sensitive medical and financial conversations with discretion and professionalism
- Dependability, a positive attitude, and a team-oriented approach
