Physical Education Teacher/Health Teacher: Part-time (3 1/2 days per school week):
The Birches Academy is an STEAM and Arts Integrated Public Charter School located in Salem, NH. The mission of the Birches Academy is to provide excellence in core academics and STEAM while cultivating the individual qualities and strengths of each child.
This part-time (three days a week) Physical Education/Health Teacher must be certified to teach in New Hampshire and will be committed to standards based curriculum and and innovative approaches in education. The candidate must be a team player, dedicated to the success of the students, and to the successful growth of the school. Position starts in August 2026.
Responsibilities:
-The Physical Education Teacher provides a well-organized, smoothly functioning physical education/health program for all students
-Create a physical education/health curriculum for grades K-8 in accordance with the NH Dept of Education
-Coordinate students in physical education activities
-Teach the health curriculum to students
-Coordinate individual and team sports for students, using knowledge of sports techniques and of physical capabilities of students
•Organize, lead, instruct, and officiate indoor and outdoor games, such as kickball, soccer, and basketball
-Any other duties that may be assigned by the Dean of School or Assistant Principal
•Work as a professional member of a school-wide teaching team
•Work with administration to meet terms of the charter
Qualifications:
*Bachelor's Degree
*2 years experience in physical education/health
Salary : $30,000 - $40,000
