JOB SUMMARY:
The Test Equipment Technician is responsible for providing calibration and repair services on a variety of precision measurement equipment. Shall demonstrate the required knowledge of metrology laboratory methods and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Essential/Typical Duties:
- Maintains, repairs, and calibrates Force Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
- Performs general maintenance and overhaul procedures; uses TMDE to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Non-Essential Duties:
- Performs other related duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Often – Reaching, Standing, Sitting, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Talking, Hearing
- Occasionally – Climbing, Stooping, Kneeling
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements when calibrating certain TMDE
- Lifting/Moving Requirements: Individual ability to lift up to 50 pound
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Normally works in an environmentally controlled work area.
REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Excellent working knowledge/understanding in the care and use of, and the calibration and maintenance of, electronic, electro-mechanical Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and calibration laboratory measurement standards.
- Knowledge required to read, interpret and analyze block, schematic and wiring diagrams and technical publications.
- Good working knowledge of electrical theory, electronics, electromechanical, mechanical, mathematics and operating principles of precision measurement equipment (PME) and TMDE, including calibration and working standards.
- Possess the ability to work with a high level of independence to identify and resolve complex technical problems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting techniques; calibration traceability, metrology techniques and safe laboratory practices.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills essential.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, be able to acquire and maintain any and all necessary security clearances.
- Possesses the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
