Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive seating assistance to ensure a smooth dining experience.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities.
- Manage guest needs throughout their visit by checking in regularly, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring overall comfort.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems like OpenTable or cash registers, including processing payments and providing correct change.
- Maintain sanitation standards by adhering to food safety protocols, proper food handling procedures, and sanitation practices in line with health regulations.
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas quickly for new guests, and supporting host/host duties when needed.
- Support food preparation or kitchen tasks if required, demonstrating versatility within the food service environment.
- Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming atmosphere that promotes guest loyalty and positive reviews.
- Follow all safety guidelines related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety to ensure a secure environment for staff and guests.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience or food service background preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to manage time effectively while multitasking during busy service periods.
- Experience in upselling menu items or promoting specials to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Hospitality background including host/host or serving roles is highly desirable; nightclub or catering experience can be beneficial too.
