Academic Programs and Engagement Manager
Location: Westerville, Ohio
Employment Type: Part-Time (15-20 hours per week)

The Big Bus, a mobile classroom, is dedicated to empowering learners of all ages by
delivering high-quality tutoring, literacy, math, and English language learning programs. We

Position Overview
We are seeking an Academic Programs and Engagement Manager to lead our academic
programming and community engagement efforts in the Westerville area. This part-time
role combines the coordination of impactful educational programs with the creation of
engaging digital content to share our story and connect with the community.
The ideal candidate is passionate about education, culturally responsive teaching, and
fostering community relationships. You will be both a program leader and a storyteller,
ensuring our work is visible, celebrated, and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
Academic & Instructional Leadership (60%)
• Design, implement, and oversee tutoring and academic enrichment programs.
• Train, supervise, and support tutors and instructional volunteers.
• Develop culturally responsive, student-centered curriculum aligned with program
goals.
• Track and evaluate student participation and progress.
• Collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to strengthen impact.
Digital Engagement & Communications (35%)
• Lead content strategy and daily management of social media platforms.
• Create and share impact stories in a variety of formats.
• Monitor digital engagement metrics and refine strategies for greater reach and
effectiveness.
Community Engagement & Support (5%)
• Represent The Big Bus at events, meetings, and community gatherings.
• Support volunteer engagement, fundraising campaigns, and organizational
initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, or a related field (or equivalent
experience).
• Experience in academic program management, tutoring, or instructional leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling
content.
• Proficiency with social media platforms and basic digital content creation.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities.
• Must be based in or able to commute regularly to the Westerville area.
