What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Chapel Students position at The Bible Chapel?
Director of Chapel Students - 56 (5th & 6th Grade)
Vision: The Director of Chapel Students, 56 will have the unique opportunity to care for, shepherd, lead, influence, teach and make known the Gospel of Jesus Christ to 5th and 6th grade students within our church and community. This individual will be a highly visible member of our campus ministry team and instrumental in the development of our next generation.
General Responsibilities
- Champion and embody the Bible Chapel’s mission of developing followers of Jesus Christ through the 56 ministry.
- Develop a relational student ministry aligned with the Next Gen mission and vision that includes:
- Create engaging environments for 56 students on Sunday mornings
- Assimilate new students and pursue missing students according to the ministry’s strategy
- Equip, communicate with, and partner with parents of 56 students
- Develop and teach content in line with the values of the Next Gen ministry
- Continually recruit, train, and shepherd small group leaders and other Team TBC roles within the ministry
- Planning and executing special events (eg. Mission trips, retreats, kick-off’s)
- Partnering with Junior and High School ministries when appropriate (eg. trips, initiatives, strategies, etc.)
- Partner with Chapel Kids for a smooth handoff from 4th grade to 56
- Plan and execute yearly goals
- Accurately capturing and reporting information into church data base system
- Manage an annual budget
- Attend staff meetings as appropriate
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Follower of Jesus Christ who has conviction to share Jesus Christ with others
- Disciple maker who has a passion for seeing students and families come to know Jesus
- Experience teaching pre-teen or teenage students
- Experience recognizing, mentoring, and developing leaders
- Teachable in areas such as communication, event planning, leader recruiting, etc.
- In agreement with The Bible Chapel Core Values and Beliefs
- Must be a Bible Chapel member or willing to become a member within 6 months of being hired
Spiritual Gifts: Administration, Shepherding, Leadership, Teaching
Education: Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 3 years of youth ministry experience
Time/Allocation: Part-time, 25-29.5 hours per week
Accountability: The Director of Chapel Students, 56 is supervised by the Pastor of Next Gen
Salary : $22,000 - $27,800
