Best Bees is a full-service beekeeping operation headquartered in Boston, with other locations nationwide. We deliver, install, and manage beehives for residences and businesses in cities across the country and have a large concentration of hives in the Boston area. Our Boston beekeepers & harvesters are managed in-person at our Boston facility. We offer a competitive hourly rate and are seeking a harvester to start immediately. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
Our team consists of dedicated environmentalists working to support scientific research in honey bee colonies on buildings and in backyards across the United States. Our honey harvesters play a key role in supporting the client experience and managing hive resources. Experience is not necessary for this general labor role, though familiarity with honey bees or harvesting is a plus.
This position is seasonal, running from June 1 to September 4

Responsibilities To Include
- Being able to manage time well to maintain an organized flow of work, juggling multiple tasks within one day
- Management of harvest tracking in from the field and back out to clients, ensuring Honey Guarantees are met
- Completing small-batch client harvesting tasks including uncapping, extracting, filtering, jarring, and labeling honey
- Occasionally communicating/coordinating with the product fulfillment team to support supplemental orders
- Assisting with jar and material ordering, some management of a harvesting room budget
- Recording detailed and accurate harvesting records through our proprietary application
- Communication with beekeepers and managers via Slack and email
- Maintaining a clean working environment, including regular cleaning and minor maintenance of Best Bees Harvesting equipment, tools, and workspace
- Supporting inventory of jars, lids, labels, tools, and equipment
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with Best Bees clientele and teammates
- Opportunities to shadow beekeepers in the field
- Enthusiasm for pollinators with comfort working around bees
- Consistent weekday availability
- Organized & efficient, able to track all stages of the honey harvesting process
- Comfortable working independently and with a small team, with support from in-person or remote managers
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and promptly through Slack, email, and other communication tools
- Willingness to take on additional, potentially last-minute tasks, especially at times of slow honey flow
- Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs
