What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook/ Pool Kitchen position at The Berkshire Country Club?
The Berkshire Country Club is looking to add to our amazing team of culinary professionals. We are a private member owned Country Club, located just outside of Reading, that offers multiple recreational activities, dining experiences and Club events.
We are currently hiring Line Cooks for our Pool Kitchen who are passionate about culinary arts.
This position is expected to start between the second and third week of May 2026.
What are we looking for?
Experienced Line Cooks that have a strong understanding of proper food handling procedures.
Detailed oriented cooks that can follow recipes, controls, portions, and presentation including garnishments specified by the Executive Chef.
Line cooks that can accurately and consistently prepare and execute orders in a fast-paced environment.
Experience cooking in an upscale environment preferred.
A culinary professional that assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of the products that is served.
A Line cook that maintains a clean working station, kitchen equipment, kitchen and surrounding areas.
What we require.
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year of Line Cook experience (preferably in a country club or hotel environment).
Working knowledge of standard kitchen equipment.
Knife skills and the knowledge of cooking methods.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
A neat, clean and well-kept appearance.
Excellent oral communication and listening skills.
Reliable transportation.
Flexibility in scheduling. Day, evening, weekends, holidays and special events.
Willingness to go above and beyond providing outstanding, unparalleled service to our members and guests.
Ability to work under pressure and around large groups of people.
Ability to work in an outdoor kitchen subjected to the summer heat.
