We are seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic III to support our drilling operations in Pecos, Texas. This is a critical position responsible for repairing, maintaining, and installing oil well drilling machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate is a seasoned tradesperson, committed to safety and quality work, ready to handle complex repairs in a demanding environment.
Requirements:
- 8 years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining oilfield drilling equipment and machinery
- Skilled in using hand tools and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Ability to understand and follow detailed work orders, both written and oral
- Valid driver’s license; must be able to operate Apache trucks and transport yourself daily
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred for clear communication on site
- ASE certification as a light-duty truck mechanic is a plus but not required
- Strong focus on safety protocols and compliance with EHS standards
Nice to Have:
- Experience working directly in oilfield shops or on-site repairs
- Knowledge of safety and environmental procedures specific to oil and gas operations
- Additional safety certifications or technical training related to heavy machinery
Educational and Experience Preferences:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 8 years related experience in a mechanical maintenance role in the oil and gas industry
Additional Requirements:
- Obtain PEC Safeland Certification prior to starting
- Complete ANSI Z390.1-2017 H2S training (role-specific, instructor-led)
- Use all necessary PPE including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hard hats, H2S monitors, SCBA (for applicable roles), flotation devices, fire-resistant clothing, and task-specific gear
