Summary:

The Residential Coordinator position provides leadership through planning, coordinating, and supervising Residential program staff and activities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Consistently report to work on time as scheduled, prepared to perform assigned duties and responsibilities during the entire scheduled work period/shift.
  • Supervise full and part-time Residential Direct Service Providers (DSP) and Shift Supervisors for assigned suites/homes:
  • Schedule staff for assigned suites/homes.
  • Hire staff as needed to meet optimal staffing levels.
  • Monitor new hire training and performance.
  • Complete 90-day performance evaluations for new hires and annual performance evaluations for residential care providers.
  • Manage ongoing employee performance, including staff disciplinary actions (with corrective action plans as appropriate), suspension, and/or termination of employment when necessary.
  • Role-model appropriate social behaviors and relationships.
  • Identify staff training needs and coordinate activities to build skills.
  • Conduct routine meetings with staff.
  • Manage the overall cleanliness, organization, and quality of physical facilities for assigned areas.
  • Conduct routine audits of assigned areas and students’ rooms, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Residential Case Manager or AW Coordinator for all students in assigned suites/ homes:
  • Participate in drafting and implementing residential goals as part of each student’s annual service plans.
  • Collaborate with school staff on individual student needs, progress, and plans of action.
  • Review logs and data sheets with staff and plan appropriate actions to ensure student success.
  • Write quarterly progress reports for students that reflect data collected.
  • Oversee implementation of behavioral plans when necessary.
  • Assist with programming for students in assigned areas identified as “365”.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents:
  • Communicate with parents on a regular basis.
  • Return phone calls or emails within 24 hours.
  • Investigate all parent concerns/ complaints and take appropriate action to resolve any issues.
  • Inform the Residential Administrator of all parent concerns.
  • Facilitate monthly dorm newsletters for assigned dorms/homes.
  • Share on-call duties with other Residential Coordinators on the weekends (rotating schedule).
  • Communicate with parents, school staff, Vocational Department, Nursing, DHR representatives, DSS representatives, and others as required for individual students.
  • On call Monday through Friday during normal residential hours.
  • Assist Behavior Specialist with the follow-up on incident reports.
  • Obtain all required DHR certifications and trainings.

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Attend required meetings, hearings, workshops, and in-services.
  • Work collaboratively with the Residential Administrator as well as other departments when appropriate for the welfare of the students and enforcement of all school policies/procedures and State regulations.
  • Cooperate with Benedictine administration and in-state/out-of-state agencies in any inspection or investigation.
  • Attend and successfully complete mandatory trainings and maintain job-specific certifications/licenses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field plus 3 years of experience in autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities required; OR associate degree plus 5 years of related experience required.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. upon offer.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment physical.
  • Must pass pre-employment criminal background checks through CJIS as stated in Family Law Article 5-561 and pass a pre-employment CPS check.
  • (If applicable) If position requires driving, must have a current and valid driver’s license in good standing and a driving record that would permit coverage under Benedictine’s driver insurance.
  • Must be a strong advocate of the Benedictine mission to help children and adults with developmental disabilities achieve their greatest potential and be motivated to contribute to the mission with pride and integrity.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift or push 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to see clearly with ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have a functional range of motion in all legs, arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Must be physically able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Must be able to speak and hear clearly.
  • Prior experience working with individuals aged 5-21 with developmental disabilities required.
  • Must have at least three (3) years of staff supervisory experience.
  • Must have the ability to interact and collaborate with other professionals in the field.
  • Must have strong leadership, teamwork, human relations and communication skills.
  • Must be RCYCP certified or obtain certification within 3 months of employment in the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,878.00 - $57,025.00 per year
