The Bellevue Club Aquatics Department is currently looking for a part-time Master Swim Coach to join our team. This individual provides safe, effective instruction in the fundamental skills of swimming to participants in the Master's Swimming program.
Shifts:
- 5:30am-7:00am Tuesday/Thursday and
- Occasionally 6:30am-8:30am Saturday
Required:
- 2 years of swim coaching experience
- Required to attain within the first 60 days of employment:
- American Red Cross lifeguard or
- Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinates training program for all Master’s Swimmers.
- Ensures coordination of workouts and training continuity among the coaching staff.
- Provides encouraging, motivational coaching to participants during workouts and swim meets.
- Facilitates member participation in some US Masters’ sanctioned swim meets. May accompany swimmers to various meets.
- Arranges for an approved substitute coach to be on duty when necessary. All substitutes must have the prior approval of the Aquatics Director.
- Conduct initial consultation with individuals wishing to start swimming in the Masters program. Assesses the current fitness level, fitness and competitive goals, and skill level to develop an individual workout schedule to meet the individual's needs.
- Ensures that the training for all participants is appropriate, broad based and safe (utilizing the latest physiological and technical findings available) and allows swimmers to achieve their maximum potential.
- Promotes the Master’s program through available avenues in coordination with the Aquatics Director.
- Attends coaching clinics to stay abreast of the most recent swim and coaching techniques. Makes sure that coaching staff is current in the latest coaching and technical aspects of swimming.
- Promotes and encourages professional coaching certifications among coaches.
