Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring the highest level of patient care. This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing quality service in a fast-paced environment. Please note that we do not offer benefits such as insurance and PTO. We do offer up to 7 paid holidays/yr.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform basic life support and emergency procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Collaborate with nursing staff in various specialties, including PICU, dermatology, geriatrics, and medical-surgical care.
- Ensure the clinic is well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or relevant experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments.
- Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dermatology, geriatrics, and other specialties.
- Ability to perform basic life support techniques effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining patient records.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
