Senior Network Engineer (On Site | Philadelphia, PA)

Overview
The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage our network and server infrastructure in a hybrid environment. This is a full time on site position based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Candidates must currently live in or near the Philadelphia area and be able to commute daily.
This role is responsible for ensuring performance, reliability, and security across all IT systems within a leading healthcare and behavioral health organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Windows Server 2019 through 2025, Windows 11, HP and Grandstream switches, SonicWall firewalls, Microsoft Intune, Office 365, and Barracuda backup appliances. Familiarity with Entraconnect and SmartDeploy is also preferred.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, deploy, and maintain LAN and WAN infrastructure using HP and Grandstream switches
• Manage and maintain Windows Server 2019 through 2025 environments
• Administer and support Windows 11 desktop systems
• Configure, monitor, and optimize network performance, uptime, and security
• Manage SonicWall firewalls including VPNs, access rules, and threat prevention features
• Manage Barracuda backup appliances including deployment, recovery testing, and reporting
• Deploy and manage Microsoft Intune for device and application management
• Administer Office 365 including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for infrastructure issues
• Integrate and maintain systems using Entraconnect
• Implement and enforce IT security policies and best practices
• Maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, SOPs, and configurations
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support and mentor junior IT staff
• Collaborate with external vendors and service providers as needed
Required Qualifications
• Minimum five years of experience in network engineering and systems administration
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server 2019 through 2025 including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Hyper-V
• Proficiency with Windows 11 desktop environments
• Working knowledge of SmartDeploy desktop automation software
• Advanced configuration experience with SonicWall firewalls
• Strong hands-on experience with Barracuda backup appliances
• Proficiency with HP and Grandstream switches including VLANs, QoS, and routing
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Intune for device and app management
• Experience with Office 365 administration and security policies
• Familiarity with Entraconnect integration
• Excellent understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Windows Server, Endpoint Administrator, or Azure Administrator
• CompTIA Network Plus or Security Plus
• PowerShell or scripting automation experience
• Familiarity with VoIP systems and network integration
• Experience implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Work Environment
• Monday to Friday schedule with occasional after-hours or weekend support when needed
• Fully on-site position within a collaborative healthcare IT team
• Requires reliable daily presence in Philadelphia
