Overview
The Behavior Place (TBP) is a growing, multi-state Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) organization providing high-quality services to children and families. With approximately 60 employees across Washington, Virginia, and Georgia, we are entering a stage where strong people systems, compliance, and leadership support are critical to our success.
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic HR & People Operations Manager to launch our human resources team. This role is integral to fostering a positive workplace culture, streamlining HR processes, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of human capital management, talent acquisition, employee relations, and benefits administration. As a key contributor, you will support organizational development initiatives, manage HRIS systems, and facilitate effective communication across departments to enhance overall workforce management.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end talent acquisition processes, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and coordinating onboarding activities.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employee concerns
- Oversee employee orientation programs and ongoing training & development initiatives to promote professional growth and engagement.
- Administer employee benefits programs and manage workers' compensation claims in compliance with applicable labor laws.
- Support performance management cycles by facilitating employee evaluations, feedback sessions, and succession planning efforts.
- Ensure adherence to employment law requirements such as FMLA while maintaining accurate data collection and reporting.
- Handle employee relations issues with effective conflict management strategies and foster a positive organizational culture through social media management and internal communication channels.
- Collaborate on organization design projects and change management initiatives to optimize workforce efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in human resources management or related fields with a strong emphasis on human capital management systems.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, or similar)
- Extensive knowledge of employment & labor law, workers' compensation procedures, and HR sourcing strategies.
- Demonstrated ability in project management, strategic planning, organization design, and HRIS administration.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization.
- Strong administrative experience including data entry, contracts management, and data collection practices.

Pay: $48,506.57 - $58,416.52 per year
