Position: Toddler Instructor
Job description:
We are looking for a qualified Toddler Instructor (ages 18 mos - 3.5 yrs) that can develop and successfully implement a creative learning program that prepares students for the next educational level. Additionally, the teacher will create efficient classroom schedules and routines that prioritize students’ interpersonal development, physical activity, and rest. The Instructor should exhibit and employ health behavioral practices to the toddlers to empower fairness amongst the group. Essentially displaying healthy responses to redirect negative behavior and reward positive behavior. Holding and exhibiting patience for children are vital for teachers of this level, as it is essential in earning their attention and trust, in addition to that of their parents and our awesome staff. The teacher will also be responsible for documenting students’ health, skills, behavior, growth, and overall development to report to parents and comply with state regulations. The primary objective of our center is contributing to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child in helping them acclimate to the next level of education.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a careful and creative program suitable for children
- Employ a variety of educational techniques for teaching children (including but not limited to storytelling, educational play, and media utilization)
- Effective potty training techniques
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Demonstrate and employ healthy emotional responses to encourage conflict resolution amongst children
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully curated curriculum (i.e., identifying shapes, numbers and colors; creating guided craft activities)
- Efficiently coordinate students’ designated nap and snack hours in addition to supervising them to ensure their safety at all times
- Build and maintain relationships with parents to ensure their child’s educational needs are being met
- Communicate with parents weekly to better understand the children's background and wellbeing
- Track and administer students’ progress regularly with weekly Progress Reports to parents
- Collaborate with other educators frequently to develop fun and engaging learning projects for the week
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom, consistent with state-regulated health and safety standards
- Attend mandated educational trainings when provided to attain necessary certification
Skills:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience as a toddler-level teacher holding at least 12 ECE units (*Unofficial copies of transcripts will be requested)
- Must have a minimum of 3 Infant-Toddler units
- Certification in child CPR
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Excellent understanding of the Creative Curriculum
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Demonstrated excellent communication and mediation skills between children and adults
- Demonstrated excellent instructional skills to children between the ages of 0-6
- Highly adaptable in classroom settings
- Highly Dependable - Capable of attending all scheduled shifts
- Highly Punctual - Capable of attending all scheduled shifts on time
- Capable of being patient, sociable and having a calm-demeanor
- Incorporate creativity/creative practices into a practical acumen
Pay: $20 - $23 per hour
