Temporary Full-Time (32-40 hrs)

Beer’d Brewing was opened in 2012 with a three-barrel brewhouse focusing on hop forward Ales and has grown to produce 6,000 BBLs annually. The Beer’d Brewing Company maintains a sizeable self-distribution model within Connecticut and partners with wholesalers for distribution in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
The Beer’d Brewing Company has two facilities one located in Stonington with a 15 bbl brewhouse and the second located in Groton with a 20 bbl brewhouse.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Driver will be focused on maintaining a clean and organized production floor and will also serve as the primary person responsible for moving materials and inventory between two facilities. The van driver will be required to aid our sales team in delivering to accounts in our self-distribution market.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports The Beer’d Brewing Co.’s Core Values and Focus
- Minimum of a High school diploma or GED/TASC required
- Flexibility to work varied shifts with advanced notice (e.g. some weekend and evenings)
- Awareness of proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures while operating in a manufacturing environment with industrial and mechanical equipment
- Fork lift certification a plus
- Passion and dedication in helping to make great beer
- A discerning and educated palate preferred (e.g. Cicorone Beer Server Certification a plus)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
DAILY OPERATIONS:
- Helping to maintain a clean, organized and safe production environment
- Moving finished goods between two production facilities
- Delivering beer to local accounts
- Pulling and preparing shipments for distributors
- Maintaining stock of all finished products
- Receiving, conducting inventory and storing shipments at warehouse
- Transporting packaged beer and raw materials to/from our two production facilities
- Assist with packaging finished product (kegs/bottles/cans)

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions:

- Able to lift 67 lbs to waist height unaided and 170 lbs with aided assistance
- Capable of standing for extended periods of time
- Kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching in uncomfortable positions and for extended periods of time
- Must be able to interpret specifications, convert tables and make calculations.
