Who We Think Would Be a Great Fit
The MEP Component Team is responsible for early project definition, integration, and delivery of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across the project lifecycle. In short, on behalf of the Beck team, the MEP Component Team owns the performance, cost, and constructability of our MEP systems, from concept through commissioning.
Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; frequently ascends/descends ladders and stairs; constantly works in various outdoor weather conditions; frequently moves equipment up to 50Ibs to various locations on site; constantly communicates with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of project team; ability to constantly move around job site on uneven surfaces; Spends much of the day standing. Ability to adhere to consistent and timely attendance.

- Early Phase Definition (Pre-EOR Engagement)
- Creation of Design Narratives
- Concept SD MEP reviews
- Preliminary budgeting & infrastructure planning
- Major risk identification
- Existing conditions assessments (reno work)
- Capacity, loads, and code baseline validation
- Design Oversight & Integration
- Peer reviews (SD / DD / CD)
- Design gap identification
- Code compliance checks
- Constructability analysis (clearances, routing, access)
- Interface management between consultants internal teams
- Alignment of design intent with budget & schedule
- Procurement & Cost Control
- Subcontractor bid leveling
- Scope gap identification (“gotchas”)
- Ensuring 100% scope coverage
- Value analysis / cost optimization without degrading performance
- Execution Support & System Delivery
- Field technical support (PMs & Supers)
- RFI resolution / conflict troubleshooting
- Installation support
- Commissioning assistance
- System performance alignment
- 8 years of preconstruction or Commercial construction Experience. 5 years of relevant MEP Preconstruction / Estimating experience
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Deep understanding of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems & Strong grasp of IPC, IMC, and ASHRAE standards.
- Types of Projects include Commercial (Office Buildings, Hotels, Religious, Life Science, Mission Critical, and Health-Care Facilities) and Industrial (Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing/Assembly Facilities)
- Expert in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office products
