Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Sawmill Headrig Outfeed Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this position is to operate the outfeed system of the headrig, ensuring smooth and efficient transfer of logs, lumber, or timber from the headrig saw to subsequent processes in the sawmill. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Primary Duties:

• Operate and monitor the outfeed system to ensure smooth transfer of cut logs, lumber, or timber from the headrig to the next stage of processing.
• Inspect lumber for defects or quality issues and ensure it is properly aligned for further processing.
• Adjust and calibrate outfeed equipment, including conveyors, rollers, and saws, to maintain optimal operation.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by removing debris, wood chips, and sawdust from equipment and surroundings.
• Assist in performing minor maintenance and repairs on outfeed equipment.
• Ensure proper stacking, sorting, and handling of lumber and logs based on size, type, and quality.
• Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Collaborate with other sawmill team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient production.
