What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper/Room Attendant - Seasonal position at The Beach House?
The Beach House Motel, situated just steps from the renowned Wildwood beach and boardwalk, is actively seeking Housekeepers/Room Attendants to join our team. The Beach House Motel is a YEAR ROUND property and has undergone a complete renovation less than a year ago. The Beach House Motel is committed to providing exceptional hospitality to our guests and to establishing ourselves as a preferred destination for vacationers.
SUMMARY OF ROLE: The Housekeeper is responsible for servicing, cleaning and restocking guest rooms and common areas of the motel/hotel by following established Company standards and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
1. Clean and service assigned rooms and/or common areas according to established Company standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash/rubbish, and other cleaning and service duties. Some guest rooms may include cleaning of kitchenette area, room refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, dishware, etc.
2. Remove and report any food, drinks and/or alcohol items left behind by guests who have vacated the guest room
3. Notify supervisor/management when guest room services are complete so rooms may be sold or occupied by new guests
5. Report any room that is unable to be cleaned or serviced to your supervisor/management according to established Company procedures
7. Maintain, store and use appropriate cleaning supplies in accordance with Company procedures
9. Maintain and inventory guest room supplies and amenities in order to minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping, such as towels, soap, shampoo/conditioner, clean bedding, etc.
10. Greet and acknowledge guests in a professional and courteous manner at all times
11. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to work a variety of days, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to exercise good judgment and self-control.
- Good comprehension and communication skills, with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through verbal communication
- Must demonstrate enthusiasm, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS include but are not limited to:
- Able to lift & carry items up to 25 pounds
- Able to hear and speak to employees and guest in person and/or by phone
- Able to bend, stoop, climb, stretch to reach, push, stand for long periods of time, sit, kneel and twist
- Able to use hands and fingers to operate equipment such as a mop, vacuum, cleaning cart, etc.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
