Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently and safely.
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items are hygienic and ready for use.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping or ingredient handling under supervision.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and dishware with proper technique to prevent injury.
- Maintain sanitation standards by cleaning workstations, floors, sinks, and storage areas regularly.
- Adhere to kitchen health and safety standards to promote a safe working environment for all staff.
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices in a restaurant or catering setting.
- Experience with dishwashing equipment operation and basic kitchen tools such as knives.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service hours.
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and general kitchen health standards.
