The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in managing medical billing claims and ensuring accurate insurance collections, contributing directly to our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process and manage medical billing for various payers (Medicare, Commercial and Medicaid).
- Resolving outstanding medical insurance claims by ways of research and appeals.
- Ensure accuracy in billing by reviewing medical records, documentation and payer policies.
- Handle insurance medical collections and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards in billing practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies or issues.
- Ability to think independently, be self-motivated and perform duties in a precise and efficient manner.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
- Familiarity with DRG systems and medical collection processes is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.

Requirements:Experience:
- 2 years of medical claims experience (preferred)
- Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in a clinical setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.

- Ability to perform patient care activities and operate standard medical equipment.

Salary : $33,863 - $45,442
