Job Summary
The Distillery Maintenance Technician at Bardstown Bourbon Company is the hands-on guardian of all production areas, ensuring that equipment and systems operate safely and smoothly in line with the company’s quality-driven culture. Day-to-day, you will lead both routine and preventive maintenance across boilers, softeners, RO systems, cooling towers, chilled-water networks, and a range of distilling machinery. Skilled work on PLCs, MCCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and pumps, along with occasional equipment installations, forms the core of the role, as does operating a forklift, inspecting assets for SOP and safety compliance, and logging accurate operational data. You will also help with quality-control testing and sanitation to preserve Bardstown’s ISO, food-safety, and product-quality standards while supporting smooth plant operations.

- Comfortable interacting daily with distillery customers as well as tour groups and guests in a hospitality focused environment
- Excellent team player
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of facility maintenance and repair, both routine and preventive
- Must demonstrate skilled performance in industrial mechanical and electrical duties, such as PLC, MCC installation and maintenance, distillery equipment maintenance and installation, including but not limited to hydraulics, pneumatics, and pumps
- Maintain boiler operation
- Maintain softeners
- Maintain R.O. System
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Oversee operation of cooling towers and chilled water systems
- Must have working knowledge of all operations in all areas of the distillery
- Maintain equipment in the events and visitor area
- Assist in Quality Control testing and any cleaning that may be needed
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions as well as procedure manuals
- Must be able to read, analyze and record data
- Must be able to visually inspect equipment for compliance to SOPs and other safety standards
- Commitment for the Company’s ISO program including the quality and food safety of our products.

The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience
- A high school diploma or GED
- Strong background in basic electrical, plumbing, welding, and electronics
- Experience in team-based manufacturing environment
- Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Basic computer skills
- Have a valid Kentucky driver’s license

- Must not be afraid of working heights and be able to ascend and descend ladders and in aerial lifts, as appropriate.
- Must be able to complete job duties in confined spaces.
