What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Prep position at The Bardo Coffee House?
We need one person that has open availability 16-30 hours (Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays).
$18 to $22/hour depending on experience .
Flexible schedule - start the day anytime between 6am and 6pm
Duties:
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Proper use of station machinery and equipment
• Ability to understand and follow directions given by management
• Maintain a neat and clean kitchen and a presentable work area
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs and frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 lbs
• Involves repetitive motion
• Involves working with chemicals, heated equipment, steam and at other risk conditions
Additional Duties (Food Prep):
• Ability to handle a knife and cut items such as meats and produce etc
• Ability to properly wrap prepped food containers and label correctly for storage
• Ability to monitor and rotate stocks of food items according to dates (a.k.a. FIFO, LIFO)
• Ability to take inventory and place orders for food prep items
• Completion of any task requested by management
Work Environment:
Back-of-House Kitchen prepping and making burritos, teas and drink powders. Requires the ability to work with hot food items, heated equipment, and other at risk conditions. Involves repetitive motion.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently
• Possess good time management with daily tasks required by the management team
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience in the food service industry is a big plus (such as Whole Foods Prep foods department, catering, or other food operation)
•ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (or equivalent) We will pay for your certification if you don't have one.
• Great customer service skills
