Deposit Operations

Summary: Balances batches of checks sent from branches and Federal Reserve. Researching and adjustments. Process bank transactions. Correct unposted transactions.  Process NSF items. Process Chargeback items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Balance batches of checks sent from branches.
• Assist bank employees with research, account questions and troubleshooting issues with customer accounts.
• Sort interbranch mail and deliver to in town branches.
• Work with Federal Reserve in research and adjustments.
• Process in-clearings.
• Run BOSS Processing (The process of balancing the bank for the day).
• Process all US Mail, including customer statements, notices, and customer communications.
• This position will have varying hours that will include some closing shifts.  Additional compensation is added for closing shifts.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years related experience and/or training.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
