Manager in Training (all locations)

**Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week** **Pay: $17–$20/hour, based on experience and education** **Start Date: ASAP** The Bagel Bar is growing, and we’re looking for motivated, dependable, and hardworking individuals to join our team as a **Manager in Training**. This position is designed for someone who wants to **learn the business from the ground up and grow into a Store Manager role**. As a Manager in Training, you will work alongside our managers and leadership team at one or more of our existing Bagel Bar locations. You’ll learn every aspect of running a successful store—from food and beverage preparation to customer service, staffing, inventory, scheduling, food costs, and team leadership. **The goal of this position is to prepare you to manage your own Bagel Bar location as we continue to grow and open new stores.** ## WHAT YOU'LL LEARN **Store Operations** - Learn all aspects of opening, operating, and closing a Bagel Bar location - Become proficient in front- and back-of-house positions - Learn our food and beverage menu and preparation standards - Understand daily checklists, procedures, and operating systems - Learn inventory management, ordering, receiving, and product organization - Understand food costs, waste, labor, and other key operating expenses **Leadership & Team Management** - Learn how to lead and motivate a team - Assist with training and onboarding new employees - Learn how to create and manage employee schedules - Develop strong communication and problem-solving skills - Learn how to manage busy shifts and keep the team organized and productive - Begin taking on increased leadership responsibilities as training progresses **Customer Experience** - Learn The Bagel Bar's customer service and hospitality standards - Build relationships with our customers and community - Learn how to handle customer questions and concerns professionally - Help ensure every customer receives fast, friendly, and consistent service **Food Quality & Safety** - Learn and maintain The Bagel Bar's food and beverage quality standards - Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and sanitation procedures - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment - Learn Board of Health requirements and food-safety procedures - Work toward ServSafe certification if not already certified ## CAREER PATH This is more than an hourly position. **We're looking for someone who wants to build a career with The Bagel Bar.** As you progress through training, you will take on increasing responsibility and begin performing many of the functions of an Assistant Manager and Store Manager. Our goal is to develop the right candidate into a **Store Manager who can take ownership of their own Bagel Bar location when we open our next store.** Advancement will be based on successful completion of training, job performance, leadership ability, business needs, and readiness to manage a location. ## QUALIFICATIONS - Restaurant, café, bakery, retail, or hospitality experience is helpful but not required - Previous leadership experience is a plus - Strong work ethic and willingness to learn - Reliable, punctual, and professional - Positive attitude and strong communication skills - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment - Willing to work hands-on alongside the team - Interested in learning both front- and back-of-house operations - Ability to accept feedback and take on increasing responsibility - Flexibility to work at different Bagel Bar locations during training - Ability to work **40 hours per week** - Morning and weekend availability as needed ## COMPENSATION **$17–$20 per hour**, based on experience, education, and qualifications. ## WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR We're looking for someone who is **hungry to learn, ready to work, and excited about the opportunity to grow with us.** You don't need to know everything about managing a restaurant on day one.
