Baer is looking for an SAP Strike Team Lead for a 12 -month Federal project.
Title: SAP Strike Team Lead
Location: Remote with travel to one of the following locations: Patuxent River, MD; Mechanicsburg, PA; San Diego, CA; or Norfolk, VA
Duration: 12 months
Alignment: W2 or C2C (Vendors Not Permitted)
Project Overview:
Our client is leading the technical upgrade of their critical Financial and Procurement systems for a major branch of the Department of Defense (DoD), transitioning from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA. The project focuses on a fit-to-standard approach, minimizing customizations and aligning with S/4 HANA’s standard configuration. Key efforts include defining requirements for the upgrade and supporting business process re-engineering.
Role Overview:
The Strike Team Lead serves as the senior, onsite liaison between regional stakeholders and the centralized Program team. This role is accountable for overall Strike Team execution, stakeholder engagement, and delivery coordination before, during, and after migration activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for regional leadership and Change Agents.
- Leading and coordinating all Strike Team activities across Process, Support, and Solution SMEs.
- Managing multiple concurrent workstreams (e.g., site visits, issue triage, readiness assessments).
- Ensuring timely delivery of all Strike Team outputs and required reporting.
- Synthesizing field feedback into actionable recommendations for the core team.
- Briefing senior military and civilian leadership on readiness, risks, and progress.
- Providing mentorship and direction to Strike Team members.
Requirements:
- 10 years of Program or Project Management experience in large, complex organizations.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through enterprise transformations.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
- PMP and/or SAFe Agile certification highly desirable.
- Prior DoD or federal ERP program experience required. Army or Navy experience is preferred.
- Interim or Active Secret Clearance Required.
