Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process customer transactions accurately and swiftly
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers and addressing inquiries with professionalism
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments while ensuring proper cash handling procedures
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
- Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and maintaining an organized checkout area
- Conduct product demos when applicable to engage customers and increase sales
- Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or in person
- Support inventory management by participating in stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Ensure compliance with store policies, including safety procedures and cleanliness standards
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette
- Ability to perform cashiering duties efficiently while providing outstanding customer service
- Bilingual skills are a plus to assist a diverse clientele
- Experience in supervising or leading small teams is advantageous but not mandatory
