What You’ll Do (Key Performance Objectives)
Pit and Line Testing
Goal: Deliver 100% accurate pit and line testing with <2% deviation from benchmarks. What it looks like: Conduct timely, precise sampling and testing to evaluate material quality during production. Interpret data confidently and follow established testing procedures.
Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
This position is ideal for someone with strong technical skills in DSC, ash analysis, MI, and plastics testing who wants to make a visible impact on product performance and process reliability. You’ll work in a collaborative lab and production environment, be trusted with independence, and have the opportunity to influence quality strategy through continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do (Key Performance Objectives)
Pit and Line Testing
- Goal: Achieve 95% accuracy in DSC analysis and reporting.
- What it looks like: Operate DSC equipment independently, interpret thermal data correctly, and complete analyses within established timelines.
- Goal: Maintain a 98% accuracy rate in ash content testing.
- What it looks like: Perform ash testing with careful calibration, sample prep, and documentation to ensure reliable results.
- Goal: 97% accuracy rate in moisture measurements.
- What it looks like: Operate and calibrate moisture instruments, identify moisture discrepancies quickly, and maintain consistent records.
- Goal: Zero safety incidents; 100% compliance with standards.
- What it looks like: Follow all lab and plant safety procedures, operate equipment responsibly, and ensure all testing complies with internal and industry regulations.
- Goal: Complete all testing documentation on time with zero errors.
- What it looks like: Record methods, results, and corrective actions clearly. Prepare structured reports that support quality decisions.
- Goal: Drive at least one measurable process improvement per quarter.
- What it looks like: Suggest testing enhancements, support quality projects, and stay current with new testing technologies and best practices.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Quality, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Hands-on experience with plastics testing, DSC, ash analysis, and moisture instrumentation.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with DSC, ash, and MI lab equipment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and organization
- Certifications: Quality-related certifications are a plus.
- Environment: Laboratory and manufacturing floor.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and safely operate testing equipment.
