The Axel Group is seeking a Senior Superintendent to join our client’s growing team in the Atlanta area. This firm provides a wide variety of services to their clients, including construction management, general building, design-build, preconstruction services, and more!
The Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This individual will direct and mentor field staff while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organization, and communication skills with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex commercial projects.
Position Summary:
The Senior Superintendent is accountable for managing all field operations on assigned project(s) to ensure safe, timely, and profitable completion. This role requires effective leadership, organizational excellence, and the ability to coordinate with project management, design partners, and trade contractors to drive successful project outcomes.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement and uphold company safety policies and promote a strong safety culture.
- Foster and maintain an Injury-Free Environment through personal example and mentoring.
- Direct daily on-site supervision of the field labor force and trade partners.
- Review and approve trade contractor pay applications and material invoices in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Develop and maintain detailed site logistics and phasing plans.
- Manage project quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) programs and MEP coordination.
- Oversee site testing and inspection reports.
- Monitor and control project costs, labor hours, and material usage.
- Manage self-perform work activities when applicable.
- Maintain and update CPM and look-ahead schedules.
- Develop and execute project-specific safety, HazCom, SWPPP, and QA/QC plans.
- Lead and participate in project meetings, including preconstruction, subcontractor, owner, and safety meetings.
- Prepare daily reports and track field production quantities.
- Assist with preconstruction and estimating efforts as needed.
- Ensure all required permits are obtained and inspections are completed.
- Review and approve RFIs and submittals for processing.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience may substitute).
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of commercial construction experience, with a proven record of managing large ground-up projects.
Salary Range: $130,000 – $190,000
